Willing to Sacrifice Giveaway

This is why I LOVE Scentsy!  Not only do they have great products, but they are always looking for ways to inspire and encourage others.  This week is Generosity Week in the Scentsy Consultant world. We are asked to do something nice for others, serve one another, or donate to a local charity.  I would love for all of us to experince this.  Sometimes random acts of kindness makes such a big differance to any one's day.

So in honor of this, I have a give away.  If you do the following rules, you can win a Scentsy Full Size System valued at $40.00!!!  That is a Full-Size Warmer and 3 Bars of your choice.

Here is what you have to do:

1- Become a Fan of my Facebook Page Doorly's Scents
2- Comment on this post on a random act of kindness
you did during August 25 to August 31.

The winner will be chosen by random selection at 9:00pm Pacific time on August 31.
You can enter as many times as you feel generous.
The commissions earned on the System
will be donated to the local Red Cross.

So if you know some one who needs help with yard work, house cleaning, a shoulder to cry on, or a dessert to brighten their day, get to work!  Go make some one's day and come back and tell me about it!

Can't wait to hear all about it!

Actually what I did was accompany my Mom to the hairdresser as she always has trouble conveying what she wants and so they always make mistakes (she is hearing impaired). I didn't really have the time to spare as I had one kiddo that needed to go to soccer practice so I found someone to sub there for me and did the hair dresser thing with Mom. Was glad I could do this for my Mom.

Now I'm on a roll so will be back this evening after figuring out what I can do to help someone later today. This is so cool!

  5. Something that we like to do is to give to our neighbor anything that we aren't using so that she can take these items on her missionary trips and give them to those who need them. We donate instead of reselling things. We gave her a dryer, pots and pans, home decor, clothes...etc. We don't worry about the loss of possible profit we could have made from the resale...we know that we get much more from giving it away. We also save all boxes that come into the house because she always needs boxes. ;)

  6. A co-worker at work was sad because she didn't have any money to purchase back to school paper supplies and etc. for her two kids ages 11 and 8. I went and purchased backpacks and stuffed the bags full of all kinds of school supplies. What child doesn't love a new back pack and new crayons and markers. I went into work early when no one was there and I brought the items into work and left them at her work station. It's always nice to do something good for someone else. One thing I've noticed over the years is that doing one act of kindness usually results in many acts of kindness coming your way.

  8. What exactly counts as a random act of kindness? What about small things?...

I woke up today and made my boyfriend a really nice breakfast with scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and toast! He works nights so I'm usually still asleep when he comes home at the crack of dawn, but I got up just for him. =] I do that at random times as a surprise! I set my alarm and wake up when it's still dark sometimes early in the morning to start cooking. lol.

  9. Another nice thing I did was yesterday night!

My mom works at a dentists's clinic as the front desk receptionist and she was so tired when she came home. I visited her and kept her company for a while and I did the dishes for her and cleaned her kitchen up a bit while she relaxed/napped on the couch. She was SO happy. That made me feel really good!

I'm gonna start doing lots of nice things for others so I can get more posts in! But not just that, because it makes me feel good about myself. =] Thanks for the inspiration!

This might be a random act of kindness. I was getting back into my car parked downtown and decided to check the parking meter of the car parked in front of me. It was nearly expired and no one around. I plugged it with 2 quarters giving the person more time and then drove away.

  16. I made cupcakes for my mom and boyfriend today. They were classic white cake with pink and purple frosting. =] They were really cute. They both love sweets so they were both happy and thanked me. My mom came to visit me and we sat around and talked a bit and ate cupcakes. It was fun! I love making stuff for people, especially my family.

  17. I was at Wal-Mart and this man forgot one of his grocery bags because he was in a big hurry. I ran to him when he was leaving and gave the bag to him. He said, "Oh thank you!" and it made me feel good to have saved him some trouble. =] It happened so fast but I bet I made his day a tiny bit easier.

  18. Another small thing I did today that was nice was that I washed and folded my boyfriends towels. He works a lot and he's either asleep, eating, or sleeping. lol. He didn't have any towels left so instead of him waking up and doing laundry I just did it for him. He was super happy! Guys hate to do laundry or think. Especially folding. haha.

  19. I took the time to make my mom some stretchy bead bracelets. It took about an hour and a half... They're all pink/purple and one is clear with a "rainbow shine." I'm going to give them to her tomorrow. =] I'm ok at making jewelry, but my mom thinks it's great because she can get jewelry for free. lol.

  21. The neighbor was (it appeared to me) setting out to walk to the grocery store. She is a woman with 3 little ones so had her hands full. I offered to drive her there and wait till she had shopped and then drive her home.

I snuck over to my Mom's house when she was at work and took her ironing basket--it was full (she still irons but she is from a different generation)--did all her ironing and then took it back all before she got home from work.

  24. I did some more of my boyfriend's laundry, folded it, and made his bed so he would be really comfortable when he got home from work today. He fell asleep so fast! He must have been really comfy.

  25. i follow you on FB as Salady Sarah. RAOK - I was cleaning out my basement and closet and instead of throwing the things out, I donated them to a local women's shelter. They were so happy which in turn made me feel so good. Wish I have thought of the shelter idea sooner!

I made double amounts for the casserole for dinner and took half to the neighbor behind us as I knew she had been spending long days at the hospital as her husband has some sort of surgery.

Driving down the road I saw a dog running wildly in a panic so I pulled over and it actually came to me when I called it. It had an ID tag so I put it in the car and called the owner on my cell. They met me and picked up their pup which had snuck out of the yard and gotten lost.Happy ending!

  31. I bought some nail polishes I thought my mom might like and gave them to her as a surprise gift. She loved them! Me and my mom are really close and we see eachother practically everyday if we can. I always give her little surprises or small gifts.

  32. I was at Wal-Mart again last night, and I had some quarters in my pocket. I left them on one of the little kiddie machines that you get prizes out of. Our Wal-Mart has sort of a tiny arcade for kids in the front, with little rides and stuff. So I left about 5 or 6 quarters just sitting there. Maybe some little kid will discover them and be super happy. =p

Gave 3 people rides home from church even though they lived in 3 different parts of town. Kind of a random act of kindness I guess as I felt bad their asking around so I just offered. It was fun as I got to know them better during the ride.

For the first time for me ever (my hubbs does it a lot) I stopped as I was exiting the freeway and gave a man standing there with a sign (asking for work, food or help) a 5 dollar bill. I feel so sad for these people who seem to earnest to ask for help that way.

  35. I donated a box of old clothes to the Calico Cat. It's like Goodwill, except that all the money they get from the sales goes to the local animal shelter. =] My closet is nice and cleared out now, it was a mess before. Woo! Finally got rid of that stuff! What a perfect time to do so too.

  36. My boyfriend and I invited my dad to go out with us for pizza. =] It was fun. We talked about ghost stories. lol! But anyway, it was nice too invite someone else with us once in awhile.

  38. I stayed with my sister's kids while she and her husband went out of town to find a new house. While there I printed out little cards that had kind sayings on it and took her 4-year for a walk in her neighborhood. I had her run to each house and leave a note on the doorsteps of all the neighbors. I just felt like it would be nice for them to find the notes later on..and to teach her daughter about random acts of kindness.

  41. I washed and folded a bunch of clothes for my boyfriend while he was sleeping. He works a lot and he's usually exhausted. I also made a big dinner! Steak and corn on the cob. It was delicious! I think it was a nice thing of me to do because if I didn't, then he would have to do his own laundry and make dinner. It's nice to have someone else do it for you, you know? ;) lol. He always thanks me for all the things I do for him to make his life easier.

  43. At my boyfriend's work, there's a jar for collecting pop pulltabs for one of the employees kids. He has child luekemia. =[ So we've been collecting pull-tabs and when we get a pretty good amount he takes it to work and puts them in the big jar. My dad and brother drink a lot of pop and gave us a huge ziplock bag full of tabs! We've put so many tabs in the jar they don't even fit anymore. We put them in bags and set them next to the jar. Last night my boyfriend took some more.

  48. If I win, I really want to give the Scentsy to my mom as either an early gift or save it for Christmas time. So I've been hanging out with her a lot and doing things for her a lot. lol. She doesn't know why. I think she thinks I've gone kookoo. But anyway,

I took the time to write out some recipe cards for her before I went to her house. I got a fall cookbook magazine. Takes a long time to write recipes down! I wrote some soup recipes and a yummy recipe for homemade tequittos (hope that's spelled right.) She appreciated it.

  49. At home, I washed my boyfriend's bedsheets and then put them back on his bed. I made it all nice for him so when he came home from work he could go pass out in comfort. =p I also made him breakfast. Scrambled eggs and toast, cut into strips like my grandma used to do for me. I think it's funny treating my boyfriend like a little boy sometimes. LOL! He says it makes him happy.
